Zero defects are the key ‘must have’ guidelines for the work we do.
Zero defects - IA, design & theme
I.A. must use standard colour coding for site map (as pertemplate)
Colour matching - zero discrepancy
Images - no visible artifacts: grittiness, banding or compression
Alignment - zero pixel tolerance
Padding - 5 pixels tolerance from design to theme (subject to review by designer)
Centering - zero pixel tolerance from design to theme
Fonts - no visible pixelation, size +/- 10% from design to theme
Misspelling - zero tolerance, all deliverables
Consistency (colours, capitalisation, heading styles, fonts) - zero tolerance
Menu and section labelling - zero discrepancy from IA, all deliverables
Zero defects - functionality
Features listed in proposals are included unless you can see confirmation from the client that the feature has been dropped
Non-standard features have accompanying test documentation (narrative user journey and UML where the functionality involves more than one system.)
Functionality works in all use cases (including undocumented ones)
Button and field labelling - zero discrepancy from IA
Zero defects - process
Production staff must account for their time - by logging 8 hours minimum per day
Time logs must be produced before starting the next day’s work
No work can be released to clients without QA approval
